A full week of safari excitement to the most famous parks in the world. Explore the renowned Serengeti – with its limitless wildebeests and prides of lions.
We’ll descend into the blue/green adventure of the Ngorongoro Crater, teeming with zebras, gazelles, cheetahs, and even flamingoes. Lake Manyara will enchant
with its gorgeous landscapes and tree-climbing lions. And Tarangire will unfold its many surprises of big cats, grazers, and the largest density of elephants
in the world. Come join us for 7 days of natural beauty and wild animal encounters.
Your driver/guide will pick you up from your Arusha area hotel, airport, or Arusha area residence. Hop into your private 4x4
safari Jeep and we’re off to Lake Manyara National Park. Our drive is through the scenic Maasai country, offering distinct climates and vegetation.
We’ll arrive at Manyara Park in time for a picnic lunch at the spot Ernest Hemingway called, “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. Of course, we’ll
look for the famous tree-climbing lions and it will be hard to miss those brilliant large flocks of fuchsia flamingoes. But we’ll also be on the prowl
for elephants, giraffes, warthogs, and the small, shy dik-dik. We’ll take an evening drive, leaving the park and head up the towering escarpment for
wonderful views.
We’ll enjoy dinner at our Luxury Lodge in Manyara.
This is the perfect place to soak up the sunrise, the soft golden light illuminating this magical reserve. We’ll enjoy an early
game drive before setting out for the Serengeti. Soon we’ll come to the vast Serengeti plains, an astonishing expanse of endless land and wildlife. We’ll
take an afternoon game drive over this storied savannah, admiring the great populations of wildlife filling this immense space.
We will spend our night at our luxurious safari lodge.
Let’s rise with the Serengeti sun as the great fields come alive with spectacular herds of wildebeests and so much other wildlife.
It’s here that millions of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, eland, topi and others breed and begin their Great Migration in search of taller grasses, water, and
the trek for their survival. It’s a phenomenal sight not seen elsewhere. Also, on the vast Serengeti – big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs thrive
in great numbers.
We’ll fill our minds and memories with scenes of Africa’s fantastic big game throughout the day and toward evening retreat to the comfort
of our Serengeti accommodation for dinner and rest.
We’ll arise with the sun and birdsong to another beautiful day on the grassy plains of the Serengeti. After a hearty breakfast at
your lodge or tented camp, we’ll hit the road coming to one of the most unique anthropological sites on the planet, Oldupai Gorge. It was at this site
discoveries were made of early man’s habitat, including tools and other artifacts. We’ll continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, at the crest of the
crater rim. From this vantage point, you’ll be able to look down upon the verdant 264 sq. km (101 sq. mi) caldera stretched out before you. Grasslands,
swamps, and acacia woodland all appear as a colourful palette – another world waiting to be discovered. If you wish, you can take advantage of an optional
visit to a local Maasai boma. Meet these indigenous herders in their village and learn first-hand about their centuries-old lifestyle and culture.
We will spend the night at your Luxury Ngorongoro Lodge.
Let’s have a big breakfast to get ready for a day of non-stop safari action. Secure in our 4 x 4 Jeep, we’ll descend the 400m
(1312 ft) crater walls down to the rich habitat supporting over 25,000 animals with the highest density of predators in Africa. We’ll travel through
springs, forest, and grasslands spying wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, and the big cats that stalk them. The Ngorongoro is also home to the very endangered
black rhino where they continue to breed in the wild. Here in this land of the lion and leopard, you may also find flamingoes at the alkaline waters of
Lake Magadi. We’ll pause our safari for a mid-day picnic lunch amongst all this abundance and then continue with an afternoon game drive, before ascending
the steep crater walls toward evening.
We’ll return to our accommodation for dinner and the evening.
Let’s enjoy breakfast with the light breaking over this fascinating volcanic landscape before we embark to Tarangire National Park.
We’ll make a lunch stop along the way and arrive around midday. Elephants may well be Tarangire’s calling card – over 3,000 of these majestic creatures roam
this compact but vibrant park. But sightings of lions are not uncommon. Another distinctive attraction of the reserve is the great stands of baobab trees
that populate its savannahs. These distinctive trees with their fat trunks and short branches are picturesque sentinels seemingly guarding these ancient plains.
We’ll spend the evening at our Tarangire Lodge.
Our final safari breakfast and now it’s time once again to climb into our 4x4 and hit the road. We’ll break up our drive back
with a lunch stop at a comfortable restaurant and perhaps share thoughts about our safari week.
We will bring you to your hotel, residence, or the airport.
